This new capability connects the AI assistant you already use, whether that's Claude, ChatGPT, or any other assistant built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), directly to your SECLOCK account. Whether you're a locksmith, a contract hardware distributor, a glass and glazing company, a systems integrator, or a security professional, you can now search SECLOCK's catalog, pull your own account pricing, check real-time inventory, build out full projects, and place orders on terms, all through the AI tools you're already using in your daily work.

Why this matters for the trade, not just retail

Most agentic commerce built so far has been designed for consumers: one shopper, a credit card, a retail checkout flow. Source Mode for Agents takes that same underlying idea and applies it to professional distribution, where buying looks a lot different for you: account-based pricing, purchase orders, credit terms, and getting the right part out the door the same day.

This capability extends SECLOCK's existing Source Mode sourcing platform, which already gives you a single place to source, quote, and order across nearly 10 million SKUs from the industry's most recognized manufacturers. Source Mode for Agents makes that same catalog, pricing, and fulfillment reachable directly from the AI assistants you're increasingly relying on for your daily work.

From plain-language question to placed order

Here's what it looks like in practice: you describe a job to your assistant in plain English, technical questions, scenarios, the specifics of an opening, and it returns exact manufacturer SKUs from SECLOCK's catalog, your actual purchase price, and live stock levels. From there, it can configure options, build out a cart, organize a full project across multiple openings and hardware sets, and place the order on your SECLOCK terms account.

Because the connection is scoped to your own trade account, the pricing that comes back is the price you actually pay, not list price, and not an estimate pulled from somewhere on the open web.

Guardrails built for how the trade actually buys

Source Mode for Agents is built around human-in-the-loop checkout. No order goes through until you confirm it and supply a purchase order number, and that requirement is enforced by the checkout tool itself, not left up to the AI's judgment. Orders are placed on your established SECLOCK credit terms; the tool doesn't accept credit card payment.

An approved SECLOCK trade account is required to use the tool. That said, product discovery, confirming whether SECLOCK stocks a given manufacturer, series, or part number, is available through SECLOCK's public catalog API without an account. Pricing, inventory, and ordering remain scoped to your authenticated account only.

Built on open standards

Source Mode for Agents runs on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to external systems. Because MCP is open and assistant-agnostic, you're not locked into one AI vendor. Any MCP-capable assistant, including Claude and ChatGPT, can connect to the same SECLOCK endpoint.

Access is authenticated through OAuth, so your connected assistant operates under your own SECLOCK identity and permissions. There are no API keys to copy, share, or store in a chat window. You authorize the connection once, and everything the assistant does from there (the pricing it sees, the inventory it reads, the orders it places) stays scoped to your authenticated account and nothing beyond it.

This structure follows the direction the broader agentic-commerce standard is heading: a public tier for machine-readable product discovery, and an authenticated tier that unlocks customer-specific pricing and transactions. SECLOCK's checkout tooling layers trade-specific controls on top of that, with mandatory order confirmation and a required purchase order number enforced server-side rather than left to the AI.

A distributor-built approach to B2B agentic commerce

A lot of the agentic-commerce activity so far has come from software platforms selling the capability to merchants, mostly aimed at consumer retail.
