ABUS’ Eighty Three 83/45 Padlock Offers Keyed-Alike Flexibility
A swappable shackle and 2-in-1 locking function round out the rekeyable brass padlock.
ABUS’ Eighty Three 83/45 is a 45-millimeter brass padlock with an interchangeable cylinder. The cylinder can be removed and rekeyed to match an existing key, keyed into many popular keyways, or keyed alike with various ABUS door cylinders, allowing one key to operate several locks, such as those on tool cabinets or switchgear.
The chrome-plated solid brass body pairs with a 5/16-inch hardened alloy steel shackle treated with ABUS’ NANO PROTECT™ coating for corrosion resistance. The shackle can also be swapped out within seconds as requirements change. A patented Z-Bar converts the lock between key-retaining and non-key-retaining operation, so users can require a key to lock or simply press the shackle closed.
Rated Security Level 8 on ABUS’ 10-point scale, the 83/45 is suited for securing gates, gratings, tool boxes, tool cabinets, sheds, and switchboards. A cylinder protection cap that shields the cylinder from moisture and dust is available separately.
